Guess what? Mika has started yelling in order to get his way. It's a new behaviour and I don't know where he gets it coz he doesn't go to school. Turns out it's a variation of Inez's screams. While Mika yells, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrggghhhhhhhhhhhh!" like a crazy monster, Inez will yell, "Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! OR Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!" if our attention is not on her, which can sometimes be annoying and rude too. Will usually get her to ask us nicely or properly or we won't entertain her.
Mika, on the other hand will turn his yell into a loud cry. Irritates the *toots* out of me, and I will usually put him in the corner. Or give him a light smack on the mouth. Just two days ago, we were out in the garden and Mika likes to play with the small spade to dig up the sand; Inez wanted it too. And he was practically yelling for the whole neighbourhood to hear. I warned him that if i heard another yell, he'd go into the corner. He did and I marched over to him and carried him back into the house. He started crying and we ignored him. Suddenly, I heard a little voice say, "I'm sorry, Mommy." Boy seems repentant. I went to him, hugged him, and told him he shouldn't scream. The next day, he was at it again. I truly hope it's a phase that will pass very soon coz the sound is annoyingly loud.

Ju: Mimi is the same too. Lately, if we are slow in giving her our attention, she will start yelling for us. And if I reprimand her for doing some dangerous actions, she would just scream back at me. As for Naqib, yelling since baby, can't do anything about that coz he yells everything even when calling me but it just sound adorable, I guess it is in the tone. Mimi's yells/screams sound plain rude. I scolded her for doing that, only to realise that I am shouting too. Well, maybe they learnt it from us. So now (most of time, when I remember that is) I just ignore her when she starts screaming or yelling, then later tell her taht she is being rude and nobody likes rude children.

Didn't realise Mimi was like that too, am well aware about Naqib. hahaha Was doing an imitation of Naqib singing to me Bad Day to Mom the other day. Made Mom laugh.
Yeah, I guess we are the ol' yellers and are partly to be blamed for yelling at them and I usually do it when I want to get them to pick up their toys.
My God! Yesterday, we wanted to go out and I told Mika if he didn't keep the toys he played with, he was not going. He didn't keep his toys but was the first out the door wearing his shoes. Inez and Mom kept the toy instead. I put him back in the house and left him with Dad but Dad wanted to rest and Mika wanted to follow, so I made him clean up the same toy if he wanted to follow. He whined some and I told him I would wait until he's done. He did it! I dunno if I was too strict but I wanted him to know that he must clean up or he couldn't go.
Let's see how long this phase last. In the meantime, I'll make sure I don't yell too.
